The 120 drawings of Brough Castle and Roman Fort date from 1665 to 1996. The earliest drawing is a rubbing of the gravestone of Lady Anne Clifford's Steward.
The first seven drawings are from a 1919 Office of Works survey, some based on an Ordnance Survey map sheet. There are several drawings by the Office of Works throughout the 1920s detailing several small repair and reinforcement projects, including seven drawings of shoring for the keep and six drawings of plans and sections of the keep. There are nine drawings for plans to stabilise the south west corner and six drawings for stabilisation of the north west corner of the keep.
In 1923 and 1924 the Office of Works made four drawings showing underpinning for the south and east walls of the keep.
From 1927 are four Office of Works drawings of designs for guard rails for the keep. In 1955 and 1956 the Ministry of Works produced four drawings of designs for a new custodian's hut.
From the 1960s are four graphs of Roman coin distribution by year, probably for a publication.
Between 1979 and 1981 the Department of the Environment made eight topographical survey drawings of the land to the north of the castle and produced a scheme for the redirection of the Swindale Beck River.
In 1983 and 1985 Plowman, Craven & Associates made nine survey drawings of the site for the Department of the Environment.
