Stove House 2, Lion Salt Works

Stove House 2, Lion Salt Works, Ollershaw Lane, Marston, Cheshire CW9 6ES

Lion Salt Works is England’s last surviving open-pan salt-making site, operational until 1986. After a major restoration project, the museum opened in 2015 and offers visitors the opportunity to discover how the salt works operated and the impact of salt on mid-Cheshire's people, economy, and wider landscape. The site is a scheduled monument, and several of the structures are Grade II listed.
