Ripley Castle, originally a mid-16th-century tower, was expanded in the late 18th century by Sir John Ingilby in a Gothick style with Classical interiors. Its features include intricate plasterwork, a cantilevered staircase, and a Venetian window. Ripley Castle reflects a blend of medieval, Gothic, and Classical design, with significant historical associations.

Opening Arrangements

Gardens and Farm open daily (except Christmas Day) 10am - 3pm. Castle open 30 March - 28 September every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday: guided tours 11.30am and 1pm. Also open on Market Days 26 October, 23 November and 7 December. January - March and October - December open daily for pre-booked group tours only (allow 7 days notice). Minimum group size 15 people.
