Old Buckenham Mill, Mill Road

Old Buckenham Mill, Mill Road, Old Buckenham, Norfolk NR17 1SG

Old Buckenham Mill is a five-storey corn mill built in 1818 and is the only surviving mill in the village. The mill, although not tall, has a wide diameter base with very little batter on the tower, resulting in a curb which is the largest in the country. The flyer unusually drives both a spur pinion and a worm gear to rotate the large and heavy cap. J and J Colman, and Prince Victor Duleep Singh, both once owned the mill.

Opening Arrangements

The Old Buckenham Mill Committee are planning a community spring clean of the mill, 7 scheduled open days between April and October, a Father Christmas event at the mill, as well as visits by local groups. The open dates for 2025 have not yet been set but will be advertised soon. In the meantime, please contact [email protected] for updates or visit the Trusts website at http://www.norfolkwindmills.co.uk
