This Grade II*-listed grand variety theatre and concert hall was built in 1896 by Mangnall and Littlewood. It has an ornate façade of red terracotta and brick, and richly decorated interiors including an elaborate vaulted-plasterwork ceiling spanning the auditorium. After a long period of closure, the building has been undergoing a programme of restoration since 2020 and is back in use as a music and arts venue.

Opening Arrangements

Between Easter and 30 September, the building is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from 12 noon to 4pm. Guided tours can be booked every weekend - see website for details.
