Lincoln Castle, Castle Hill
Lincoln Castle, Castle Hill, Lincoln, Lincs LN1 3AA
Lincoln Castle was built almost 1,000 years ago by William the Conqueror as part of his strategy to control the north of the United Kingdom. The castle's walls were built in the late 11th century and Lucy Tower replaced an earlier wooden keep. Lincoln Castle houses one of four surviving copies of the Magna Carta. The castle's curtain wall was restored between 2010 and 2015 and a new Medieval Wall Walk on the castle's ramparts was created.
