Crossness Beam Engine House, Old Works - Thames Water STW, Bazalgette Way, London SE2 9AQ

Grade I-listed Crossness Beam Engine House was opened in 1865 and was designed by engineer Joseph Bazalgette in the Romanesque style. The interior includes important ornamental cast ironwork and four original beam engines by James Watt and Co, later upgraded by Benjamin Goodfellow.

Opening Arrangements

Open days (monthly from 10:30 to 16:00). Guided tours - (4 times per month - each lasting 3 hours). Group visits (from, for example, U3A) - as requested. Educational visits from primary, secondary and universities-colleges) - as requested.
