Water Mill, Kennal Vale, Stithians, Cornwall

This water powered mill was used for grinding gunpowder. It was built in the early to mid 19th century for the Kennal Vale Gunpowder Works. It is one of a group of 6 similar mills which survive in the Kennal Valley. Gunpowder was important in the mining industry for blasting coal from the coalface.
