Village School, Barningham, Durham

Barningham village school was built in 1875. It has a plaque 'ERECTED BY THE FAMILY OF THE LATE LADY AUGUSTA HENRIETTA MILBANKE...." Wealthy landowners often paid for schools to be built. The school building is currently (2010) in use as the village hall.
