The Fat Cat, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

This public house was built in the mid-19th century. It was taken over by William Stones Ltd (brewers of Cannon ales) in 1912. It provided leisure and refreshment for working men and accommodation for travellers before the rise of modern hotels. It changed its name to the Fat Cat in 1981. The pub is little altered and is a detailed example of a mid-19th century pub in an industrial quarter of central Sheffield.
