Stone Quay, Swanage, Dorset
The Stone Quay and stone sea retaining wall were built in the early 19th century by William Morton Pitt for the stone export and fishing industries. The quay was built from Purbeck Stone and has a curved end, projecting into the sea. The remains of the stone tramway that was used to transport the stone to the waiting ships can still be seen.
