St Margaret's Clergy Orphan School, Merry Hill, Bushey, Hertfordshire

This school was built in 1895-7 by A and P Waterhouse. It was built for the Clergy Orphan Corporation. The Corporation was founded in 1749 for “maintaining and educating poor orphans of clergymen till of age to be put to apprentice.” This particular school was built for girls. Bushey was chosen as a site because of its 'healthy country air'.
