Silbury Hill, near Avebury, Wiltshire

An aerial view of Silbury Hill; this huge mound stands 31m high and covers an area of over 2 hectares. It was built in several stages around 2300 BC and forms part of a major complex of Neolithic ceremonial monuments centred on the henge and stone circles at Avebury. The site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
