Ring Road, Cirencester, Gloucestershire

This aerial view shows the remains of the amphitheatre showing the earth banks surrounding the central arena. It can be seen opposite the lake that is part of Cirencester Park. The building behind the amphitheatre is the hospital. The roundabout nearby was built in 1975 when Cirencester's ring road was built. The area behind the roundabout, now a leisure centre, used to be the cattle market. The building to the right of the ring road, shaped like an extended letter 'H', was originally the workhouse, currently (2011) the council ofices.
