Pillar Warehouse, Gloucester Docks, Gloucestershire

This warehouse building was probably constructed in 1849. A covered walkway to the front of the building has seven supporting pillars, giving the building its name. Goods could be loaded from the waterfront to the basement levels through the doors to the rear of the walkway, or raised to the taking-in doors on the upper floors directly from vessels.
