North Kite Enclosure, Stonehenge, Wiltshire
This earthwork enclosure covers an area of 0.2km square (50 acres). It is thought, from pottery fragments found there, to date from the Early Bronze Age (2000BC). Ploughing has damaged much of the monument which is now hardly visible. Only a section of the west bank remains and indicates how this monument may have looked. Archaeologists are puzzled as to its use.
