The interior of Harrow School's Speech Room. Harrow School was founded in 1572 by a local yeoman farmer as a free grammar school for the boys of the parish of Harrow. This classroom is in the original school building that was opened to scholars in 1611. The building still survives as the Old Schools. The tiered area of desks was common in Victorian classrooms and known as a gallery.
