Frederick Reckitt Havens, Kingston Upon Hull
The Frederick Reckitt Havens were formerly known as the Frederick Reckitt Homes of Rest and are in Laburnham Avenue. They were built as old people's homes in 1912 and designed by Runton & Barry. This building, designed for single residents, is one of a number established by the Reckitt family and associated with the nearby Garden Village. The Reckitt family were industrialists who built a model village for the workers in their factory. It was common for philanthropic industrialists to also provide homes for retired workpeople.
