Ercall Hall, High Ercall, Telford and Wrekin
This house was built in 1608 for Sir Francis Newport by the mason Walter Hancock. Hancock designed the Market Hall in Shrewsbury and possibly Condover Hall. It is on a moated site that has earthworks dating back to the 12th century. It is the site of earlier halls belonging to the Ercalaw/Ercal family.
