Drayton Arch, Drayton, Oxfordshire

This arch was never part of a larger building. It was designed as a folly or eyecatcher. It was built in c1750. It is said to have been designed by Sanderson Miller as part of the landscaping of the Wroxton Abbey Estate. Sanderson Miller (1716-1780) was a noted landscape gardener at this time. He was particularly interested in the gothic style of architecture.
