Cromford Mill, Cromford, Derbyshire

Arkwright's original water-powered mill was founded here in 1771. Originally of five stories, it now stands to three. In front of it is a brick building, possibly the original offices, and to the left is the loom weaving shop. Find out more about windmills and watermills in our Teachers' Kit - Mills.
