Church of St Mary, Ampney St Mary, Gloucestershire

Although altered in later centuries this church still has a Norman doorway and font. It was built in the early 12th century. The church was abandoned after the 15th century. This was because of an outbreak of the Black Death (plague). It is now isolated from the village which moved to the hamlet north of the main road (A417) formerly called Ashbrook, now Ampney St. Mary.
