Bewsey Old Hall, Burtonwood, Warrington
Bewsey Hall (only the south end of which now remains) is situated within a nearly circular medieval moat, this current Hall dates to c1600. However it is known that in 1251 land was given to Tilty Abbey in Essex who established a grange here. Thirteen years later William le Boteler made Bewsey his family seat and it remained in his family until the late 16th century.
