Barcroft Junior School, Lovett Street, Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire
Barcroft Junior School was built in 1896. It was built by Croft and Bentley of Grimsby for the Cleethorpes School Board. It is built in an Arts and Crafts Northern Renaissance style of architecture. This part of the school was built to accommodate 360 boys. It was the first school to be built for Cleethorpes School Board (founded 1894). Girls' and Infants' sections were also built to the north, fronting Barcroft Street. Overall it is a good and unusually complete example of a late 19th century Board School. It was built to a high standard of design and workmanship.
