Agricola Tower at Chester Castle, Chester, Cheshire

The Agricola Tower was built in the late 12th century. It was the original gatehouse to the castle's inner bailey. After a fire in 1302 there were several alterations to the tower. It was refaced by Thomas Harrison in 1818. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2010) and managed by Chester City Council. Find out more
