94, Park Lane, Westminster, Greater London

This terraced town house is an example of housing for wealthy people. The house was built in 1823-25 and designed by Samuel Baxter, builder. It is part of a terrace of 7 houses, all from a similar date but not all identical. The front is covered in white stucco and the bow windows are an important feature. On the first floor it has a cast iron verandah/balcony with a 'tent' roof. The 5 middle houses in the row all have this same feature. The interior was largely redecorated in French taste in 1900 by Charles Mallier and Co. Number 93, next door, was Disraeli's house from 1839-1872. He was prime minister in 1868 and from 1874–1880.
