SJ3386 THE ESPLANADE, Rock Ferry 789-1/12/277 (East side) Sea Wall to Esplanade

GV II

Sea wall to Esplanade. c1830-35. Coursed and squared rubble. Slightly battered wall, about 8 feet high. Built in 2 phases corresponding with the boundary of Rock Park. Wall to Park section has concave profile, the southern section a simple raking profile. Constructed by the Royal Rock Ferry Company as part of a scheme to improve ferry facilities at Rock Ferry.
