Description

An album of 27 pages containing 32 black and white and 3 colour photographs showing the main gateway, Sally Port, King George II statue and curtain walls of the 17th century fortress.

The photographs range in date between 1928 and 1975 with most dating from the 1940s and 50s. There are a series of views showing the main entrance before and after repair works, plus a series showing the George II statue before and after repair to bomb damage incurred in 1941. The three colour photographs date from 1975 and show the curtain walls.
