Between December 1999 and March 2002 field investigation teams from the York office of English Heritage carried out field surveys at Iron Age hillforts and enclosures in the Northumberland National Park. The work was requested and partly funded by the National Park Authority and formed the first stage in a broader project entitled 'Discovering our hillfort heritage'.
