Description

47 Maddox Street was built in 1892 to designs by W A Williams, with number 45 perhaps built later in a sympathetic style to its neighbour. The Bedford Lemere daybook records that this photograph was one of a series of images of London buildings taken for the architect E K Purchase, although it is unclear from these records whether Purchase was the architect of number 45.
