Cross, Claughton, Lancashire

The base of this cross dates back to medieval times. The cross itself dates from 1920 and was created as a World War One war memorial. It has the inscription 'This wayside cross was restored by William Fitzherbert-Brockholes in A.D. 1920 in memory of his two sons Thomas and Roger and all from Claughton who gave their lives for their country in the Great War.'
